Sharp increase in area planted to crops in Zimbabwe

In a positive development for that country, farmers in Zimbabwe have reported that they have planted double the number of hectares to maize to date in 2022, compared with the same time the previous year.

Sharp increase in area planted to crops in Zimbabwe
Increased government support for maize producers, as well as good rainfall during the current production season, have improved the prospects for a good cropping season in Zimbabwe in 2022/23.

This was according to Dr Kobus Laubscher, South African independent agricultural economist.
